A New York area nonprofit company is being sued by its former chief financial officer for being terminated after he made several whistleblower complaints against the company and its board members. He also claims the company refused to accommodate his disabilities including epilepsy and depression.
An Orange County New York health department employee has sued her employer for failing to accommodate her respiratory condition by not moving her to a non-damaging work environment. She says her asthma was made worse by her job, with her attacks increasing in severity.
The suit, filed in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleges the water services company discriminated against a former employee’s gender, age and protected medical leave.
The woman says she was subjected to a “boys’ club” culture, had her complaints about it ignored, and was fired after taking leave caring for her sick husband and daughter.
